Job Overview

The Inspector – Structures will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and reporting on all structural works associated with the railway infrastructure project. The role ensures that construction activities comply with design specifications, quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Missions/Main Duties

  • Inspect ongoing structural works including bridges, viaducts, retaining walls, stations, and foundations.
  • Monitor the contractor’s activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
  • Verify quality and materials delivered to site against approved material submittals and technical specifications.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports and submit to the Senior Engineer or Resident Engineer.
  • Witness and document tests such as concrete pouring, compaction, reinforcement placement, and formwork.
  • Identify and report any deviations, non-conformances, or safety violations observed during inspections.
  • Ensure that corrective actions and reworks are implemented as per quality control procedures.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve site issues.
  • Support the handover process of completed structural works through punch list verification and final inspections.
  • Maintain proper records of all inspections, test results, and approvals.

Profile/Skills

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural inspections, preferably
    in railway or major infrastructure projects.
  • Preference for candidates who can join immediately and are currently in Sohar, Oman. 
  • GCC experience
