Job Description
The Salary Processing Officer will handle payroll functions for a government client on a 6-month temporary assignment. The role focuses on ensuring accurate salary disbursements, coordinating with HR and Finance, and maintaining compliance with Qatar’s Wage Protection System (WPS) regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting or banking and be familiar with payroll processes in Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Handle end-to-end salary processing, including data collection, validation, and system entry
- Compliance: Ensure payroll aligns with WPS regulations and internal policies
- Coordination: Work closely with HR and Finance to verify attendance, leaves, and deductions
- Final Settlements: Assist with processing final settlements, leave encashments, and adjustments
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain payroll records and prepare reports for audits and reconciliation
- Confidentiality: Uphold the confidentiality and integrity of all employee financial data
Skills
- Good knowledge of payroll systems, accounting principles, and WPS
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial data handling
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage sensitive information and confidentiality
- Effective communication and coordination skills
- Can work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or banking, specifically in payroll or salary processing
- Proficiency in WPS and salary disbursement processes is required
- Arabic-speaking male candidates are preferred
- Candidates available immediately or on short notice are strongly encouraged to apply
