What you’ll be doing

  • Setting Revolut UAE’s data protection and privacy strategy through the design of policies, procedures, and standardised risks and controls, and overseeing their implementation
  • Overseeing 1LoD’s management of data protection, privacy risks, and controls
  • Delivering training programmes to embed and enhance data protection and privacy awareness throughout the organisation
  • Reporting to Revolut UAE’s Head of Compliance, the executive committee, and the Board Risk and Compliance Committee on the effectiveness of the data protection and privacy programme
  • Monitoring the handling of data subject rights requests by Revolut’s central DPO support team
  • Liaising with the group’s DPO team on broader data protection initiatives and frameworks
  • Liaising with key internal (Legal, Risk, etc.) and external (UAE regulators, advisors, vendors, partners, etc.) stakeholders as required

What you’ll need

  • Experience as a Data Protection Officer, with demonstrable experience in UAE data protection laws, regulations, rules, and guidance
  • A track record of successfully engaging with UAE regulators
  • Knowledge and experience of regulatory requirements relating to data protection and privacy
  • The ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple projects at once with close attention to detail, and meet tight deadlines
  • An understanding of the interplay between compliance risk and business risk
  • A solution-oriented mindset for complex privacy and data protection problems
  • The ability to communicate positively with members of various internal teams and regulators
  • Demonstrated sound judgment
  • Solid analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to provide clear and concise advice promptly in ambiguous situations

Nice to have

  • Additional privacy and data protection qualifications
  • Experience in coding (SQL, Python, Java)
  • Previous experience advising in fintech and payments
  • Experience advising on innovative, customer-oriented features
  • Experience working on regulatory investigations and dealing with breach investigations
  • Knowledge of international data transfer requirements, restrictions, and solutions
  • Experience in compliance risk management within a consultancy, compliance function, or regulator
