Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Steward! We’re seeking a detail-oriented and efficient individual to play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our bustling kitchen operations.

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, food preparation spaces, and back-of-house facilities
  • Operate dishwashing machines according to manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness of pantries, refrigerators, and freezers
  • Ensure proper storage of operating equipment, crockery, cutlery, and glassware
  • Adhere to current health and hygiene regulations in all kitchen areas
  • Sort, count, and prepare operational equipment as required
  • Collect and dispose of garbage from all kitchen and back-of-house areas each shift
  • Handle chemicals and equipment safely as per manufacturer instructions
  • Contribute to cost control through energy conservation and careful use of resources
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent service

Qualifications

  • Understanding of food safety requirements and hygiene standards
  • Proven track record in cleaning, customer service, or hospitality
  • High standard of grooming and presentation
  • Ability to work evenings and flexibility to work across a 7-day roster
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to supporting the overall kitchen operations
