Responsibilities
Role Overview:
The Welfare Administrator is responsible for ensuring the overall well-being, welfare, and engagement of the workforce, with a strong focus on grievance management and camp accommodation. The role promotes a safe, healthy, and supportive environment through proactive welfare programs, employee counselling, and compliance with labour laws. This position also contributes to enhancing productivity and morale across the workforce.
- Ensure workers’ welfare across accommodation, food, water, medical, and related needs.
- Investigate and resolve employee grievances promptly and fairly.
- Facilitate transparent and effective communication between employees and management.
- Organize employee engagement initiatives such as sports, cultural events, and social activities.
- Implement wellness programs, including stress management and health awareness.
- Collaborate with medical teams to promote preventive healthcare practices.
- Provide professional counselling and support for personal or work-related challenges.
- Conduct and document mental health assessments and provide necessary interventions.
- Assist in managing crisis situations, including workplace conflict or employee distress.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all welfare matters.
- Implement strategies to prevent and address workplace discrimination if any.
- Conduct induction-training programs for new employees.
- Guide and support supervisors and team leaders in managing welfare issues.
- Maintain detailed records of welfare activities and counselling sessions.
- Prepare regular reports on welfare initiatives and their impact.
- Support management in resolving workforce-related issues through structured escalation.
- Coordinate across departments to ensure effective welfare service delivery.
- Manage and organise the effectiveness of welfare programs and propose enhancements.
- Audit welfare policies, standards, and continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure adherence to labour laws.
- Plan and manage Annual Activity Calendar.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
- 6 – 10 years of relevant welfare/camp administration experience
- IT skills: Excel / PowerPoint / Word / Publisher (Microsoft suite)
- Language proficiency: English/Hindi / Urdu
- Ability to investigate, resolve, and document employee complaints fairly.
- Knowledge of camp/site services, facilities, and welfare standards for workforce.
- Capacity to provide professional, confidential guidance and interventions.
- Skill in planning and delivering events and wellness initiatives.
